The CTMP 2009 is a light weight, portable, instrument transformer test set. This instrument is unique in offering 0.1% ratio accuracy over the entire range of measurements.

For 2009 the CTMP has been upgraded with a 480 x 272, 65,536 color, touch screen. We offer the best user interface in the industry.

The CTMP will write data directly into a supplied Excel spreadsheet template for efficient, as you test, data sheet creation that includes a saturation graph. The unit links to a PC via supplied serial cable or optional Bluetooth link. The CTMP performs a complete array of tests of an instrument transformer and the secondary circuit. Current transformers can be tested when installed in power transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.

Voltage and current inputs are provided to allow the unit to measure an external voltage, current and phase angle. Current may be measured using the 0-10A hardwire input or a supplied fluke clamp on that allows "non invasive" measurement to 100A. The unit therefore eliminates the need for the expensive phase angle and other meters previously required to commission a protective relay or metering scheme. The CTMP also offers the unique ability to ratio an energized CT !

A high current output supplies up to 80 AMPS to test basic protective relays. A timer with a fully configurable stop input is included. The high current mode offers a DLRO function that will accurately test the contact resistance of circuit breakers using a Kelvin connection. The CTMP measuring circuit acquires the output current, the specimen voltage drop, the angle between these parameters and solves for the resistive component.
